What Is Personal Information?
“Personal Information” is personally identifiable information about you, including your name, age, residential address, IP address, e-mail address, credit card and billing information, and your views and personal opinions. Publicly available information, such as business contact information or a public directory listing of your name, address, telephone number or information that is aggregated and not associated with a specific individual, including demographic information and statistics, is not considered Personal Information.
What Personal Information Do We Collect?
Culture Days does not gather any of your personal information while you are surfing the Website We may collect your IP address when you use the Site and we keep track of your dealings with us, including details of your visits to our Site and the resources that you access, including, but not limited to, traffic data, location data, weblogs, downloads, and other communication data.
We will only request personal information from you that is necessary to establish, manage and maintain our relationship with you. Personal Information is collected by us when you provide it to us, such as, when you subscribe to a specific service, such as the Culture Days newsletter, sign up as a registered user, create a user account, submit information or content to the Blog or the Website, participate in a contest or promotion, or contact us. We may also receive Personal Information from our business partners and other third parties, provided that such third parties confirm to us that they have obtained your consent or we have obtained your consent in this regard.
What Non-Personal Information Will We Collect?
Gathering of information for statistical purposes
Culture Days automatically collects certain information using a third-party analytics program (Google Analytics) to help us understand how our users use the Website, but none of this information identifies you personally. For example, each time you visit the site we automatically collect your browser and computer type, access times, the web page from which you came, and the web page(s) you access. We use this information only to better understand your needs and the needs of Website users in the aggregate, and to be able to trace fraudulent activities if necessary. Culture Days also makes use of information gathered for statistical purposes to keep track of the number of visits to the Website and which pages on the Website with a view to introducing improvements. This aggregate data may be shared with Culture Days partners or the media, and in that case these organizations will be required to comply with this Policy as applicable.
When you view the Website, we collect and store some information on your computer. This information will be stored in a “Cookie,” which is a file created on your computer’s hard drive, and will help us in many ways. For example, Cookies allow us to tailor the Website to better match your interests and preferences. Culture Days collects and discloses your personal information for the following purposes:

You always have the option to tell us not to share your personal information with third parties or to exclude you from offers for targeted advertising.
We may be involved in the sale or transfer of some or all of our assets or businesses. As part of that sale or transfer transaction, we may disclose your personal information to the acquiring organization, but will require the acquiring organization to agree to protect the privacy of your personal information in a manner that is consistent with the Policy.
Limited disclosure of Personal Information to third parties may be required as part of Culture Days fulfilling its stated business duties and day-to-day operations. However, information will only be disclosed to such persons if they have entered into a written agreement with us to abide by this Policy.
Where you have provided such information, it will only be used for the stated purpose.
In addition, Culture Days uses a number of third-party applications for various functions of the Website and for newsletter management and administration and a variety of internet services that allow a user to comment on blog posts and activities, including Mail Chimp, Disqus, Facebook, Twitter, OpenID, and Yahoo!. Personal Information entered by you on the Website may be passed through to those companies, but only to the extent required for their respective functionalities to operate properly. When your Personal Information is passed to those companies, it is covered by their respective privacy policies, which we encourage you to visit.
Culture Days offers the ability for users to sign in to Culture Days via their Facebook accounts. The Facebook social sign in, implemented through 3rd party service Janrain, enables new users to sign in with one click using their Facebook and is offered as an alternative to the regular Culture Days registration process. Facebook social sign in users are able to access and use all features on the Website that are available to other Culture Days registered users.
Facebook returns user profile data along with session information when a user authenticates successfully. The collected data includes: user’s basic info (as provided by Facebook), user’s email address (associated with Facebook account), and user’s profile info (birthday, home town, interests, location and work history). Culture Days uses this data for communication with the user regarding issues with activity registration, using the Website, or our Blog. Culture Days does not directly post any information to any user’s Facebook profile and Culture Days’ access to a user’s account information is limited to the duration in which they interact with the Website. Should Facebook social sign in users wish to revoke their granted access to Culture Days, they can do so under their Facebook account’s General Account Settings.
Risks associated with the Internet
Despite Culture Days’ efforts to ensure third parties will not access or obtain your personal information through the Website, complete confidentiality and security cannot currently be guaranteed on the Internet. Communication via the Internet is subject to interception, loss, or alteration. You acknowledge and agree that Culture Days cannot be held responsible for damages resulting from the transmission of confidential information or personal information over the Internet and that such communications are at your own risk. You should always take great care in handling and disclosing your Personal Information.
Limitation of Liability
Culture Days, and its respective officers, directors, owners, officials, partners, partnerships, principals, employees, donors, affiliated and other related entities, agents, representatives, successors and assigns, assume no liability or responsibility to you or any third party arising out of any loss, misuse, destruction or alteration of your Personal Information collected through the Website by any third party, or collected through the Website.
Processing of Personal Information
Your personal information may be processed and stored outside of the province in which you reside and/or outside of Canada. Under the laws of these other jurisdictions, in certain circumstances foreign courts, law enforcement agencies or regulatory agencies may be entitled to access your personal information without notice to you. Culture Days wants to ensure that information about you is accurate, complete and current. Please inform us of any change of name, address or other information. In addition, you have the right to access the Personal Information that Culture Days has collected, stored, and disclosed about you, subject to any legal restrictions. If there are errors in the information in your files, you may request that it be changed. If we have disclosed inaccurate information about you to a third party, we will be pleased to contact the third party in order to advise them of the error.
