Join us at the SGPL Event Tent at Central Park in Spruce Grove for Poets in the Park with Naomi McIlwraith. Naomi will read from kiyâm: poems, her collection that explores the beauty of the intersection between nêhiyawêwin (Plains Cree language) and âkayâsîmowin (English). kiyâm articulates a powerful yearning for family, history, peace, and love.
After Naomi concludes her readings, members of the Parkland Poets Society with take the "stage" and present a variety of poetic styles and voices.
Poets in the Park is presented in partnership with The City of Spruce Grove and funded by The Government of Alberta
