Culture Days @ the Library is a city-wide celebration of arts and culture taking place at various Toronto Public Library branches.
A picture is worth 1000 words, but how do you tell a story in just one picture? Join this uniquely creative and fun workshop, learn how, and do it yourself!
An illustrative artist with a penchant for one-picture stories, Genie Weinstein will share her tips for creating an image that the viewer can "read" and explore. Her playful watercolour and ink artwork will be on display to illustrate the talk and inspire ideas.
The workshop includes a short presentation, and a hands-on session. Drawing materials will be provided.

Genie is a Toronto-based illustrative artist whose work appeals to both children and adults. Her art has been featured in various publications, displayed at group and solo exhibits, and showcased on Toronto's public transit. Although Genie works in a variety of media, she especially enjoys combining the unpredictability of watercolour with the precision of pen and ink to create illustrations that are fresh and playful, yet highly detailed.
